Wayne Schiesser

July 2, 1950 — March 27, 2026

Wayne Lynn Schiesser, 75, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Wayne was born on July 2, 1950 to Walter and Luella (Hoff) Schiesser in Fergus Falls. Wayne grew up on the farm and attended District 197 Country School and completed school in Fergus Falls.

On June 30, 1984 Wayne married Wendy Anderson in Fergus Falls.

He went to work at age 16, driving truck for Larry Ott Inc. He hauled grain while leased on to Dalton Trucking. He then hauled cattle, hogs, horses, and sheep under his own authority and eventually switched to hauling flatbed and dry van freight. Later, he leased on to Steve Olson Trucking, Golden Ring Trucking, and Senske Transportation until retiring in 2021. Wayne traveled through 48 states over 53 years and logged over nine million miles.

Wayne took a lot of pride in his children and 15 grandchildren and enjoyed watching them all participate in various activities over the years.

He enjoyed helping take the crops off in the fall and would haul from field to farm as long as needed. Wayne spent many hours working on his own truck with the help of his sons. He shared a love of cattle with his daughter. He truly enjoyed hauling the livestock to the state fair for county 4H kids. He enjoyed his daily stop at Olson Oil for coffee and a scratch off and a little smart witty humor-hardly missing a day!

Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Luella Schiesser; father and mother-in-law, Arland "Bud" and Donna Anderson; brothers-in-law, Richard "Dick" Durham, Earl Heifort, and Craig "Busch" Norman.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wendy; his children, Kyle Maack, Thomas (Alison) Schiesser, Reba (Kraig) Cersovsky, and Stuart (Cassidy) Schiesser; 15 grandchildren, Ashlynn and Bryer Maack, Emma, Elise, Wyatt, and Vera Schiesser, Konnor, Raylee, Keagan, and Klayton Cersovsky, and Bristol, Hadley, Danica, Grady, and Arlo Schiesser; sisters, Wanda Durham, Dianne Heifort and Renee Norman; brother, Lee Schiesser; brothers-in-law, Steve (Kay) Anderson and Dana (Lori) Anderson; aunt, Ardis Fronning; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, closes friends, and his loyal companion, Max.
