Tamala "Tammy" Rostad

Tamala Ann Rostad "Tammy", 65 of Erhard passed away Saturday, May 10th at her residence with family by her side after her 4 ½ year battle with cancer. She was born on June 19, 1959 in Fergus Falls to Robert and Sylvia Leabo. She attended country school at District 187 in Edwards, MN then attended Pelican Rapids School graduating in 1977. She was a lifelong member of Tonseth Church and was confirmed there. Tammy started out her cooking career in the Cafeteria at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls and then went on to work at Pelican Rapids School cooking for 33 years until she retired in 2017. She also helped out her dad with his hunting guide service by cleaning ducks and geese.

On August 26, 1978 she welcomed her son Ryan into the world. Tammy was united in marriage to Sverre Rostad on June 24, 1989 on a paddle boat on Dead Lake, also joining the family were Sverre's daughters Kirtsen and Amber. In 2002 Sverre and Tammy moved to Tonseth Lake creating their forever home where they loved having family and friends come over for pontoon rides and watching the grandchildren swim.

Tammy had a memory like no other and always knew the exact date and year of everyone's birthday and memorable events throughout her life. She was a strong believer in faith. She enjoyed summer evenings sitting by the lake with family and friends in the Tiki hut and took pride in the pirate beach they created where the grandchildren would always find treasure in the lake when they came to swim. She also enjoyed hunting, side by side rides, and spending time with family and friends ice fishing on Tonseth Lake. Lighthouses were one of her favorite things to see and collect, she always said "Where there is light there is hope". She also loved rock and roll music like no other and knew the words to every song. In Tammy's words, "Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll".

Tammy leaves behind her husband of 35 years Sverre; son Ryan (LeAnn) Leabo of Erhard; daughters Kirsten (Brent) Lanoue of Underwood, and Amber (John) Gullingsrud of Pelican Rapids; grandchildren Taylor (Austin), Riley (Kenzi), Kyler (Macie), Kaiden, Addison, Brook, Brock, Ashlyn, Isabella, and Isaiah; greatgrandchild Maverick; brothers Scott (Amanda), Steve (Tammey), Ted (Kate); and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Sylvia Leabo; in-laws Kenneth and Juneice Rostad and grandson Bryce Lanoue.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2025 at Olson Funeral & Cremation in Fergus Falls with a visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Pastor Dallas Rostad

Interment: Tonseth Lutheran Cemetery, Erhard, MN
