Sharon Leona Lehman Wilde, age 85, of Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026 after a five-year battle with Lymphoma.
Sharon was born on January 2, 1941 at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. She was the second daughter of Joseph and Gladys Lehman. She attended country schools while growing up in the farm communities of Breckenridge and Battle Lake areas. In the early 1950's, the family moved to Fergus Falls where she attended elementary and Roosevelt High School. Sharon grew up working for her parents at Mark's Grill and Skyline Café where she was taught a strong work ethic.
On May 31, 1959, Sharon and Eugene (Dave) Wilde were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in Elizabeth. Throughout their 60-year marriage, they made their home in the Fergus Falls area. They had three children: Shawn, Darcey, and Sherri. Her children were always her first priority.
Her work career started in 1966 for the J.C. Penney Company. After ten-years, she changed career paths to the banking industry at Security State Bank. She started out as a bookkeeper and bank teller before finding her passion as a Customer Service Representative. She enjoyed working with people and was most proud of being the co-director of the Security Partners Program for 15 years. Through this program she was able to host fun events and tours throughout North America. She retired from Security State Bank in 2002.
Sharon volunteered for many activities in the Fergus Falls area where help was needed. They included church positions, Lions Club of Elizabeth, Ducks Unlimited, the West Otter Tail County American Cancer board, the Pioneer Auxiliary board, and official state loon counter for Deer Lake.
In her early years, she participated in softball, bowling and pool leagues. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time at her cabins on Deer Lake and Rush Lake. She loved gardening, boating, fishing, collecting various treasures and traveling.
She loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She loved the Lord, her savior and is now home with Him. She will be missed greatly.
Sharon is survived by her three children, son Shawn (Greg Schirmers) of Maple Grove and daughters Darcey (Tom) Bye of Clitherall and Sherri (Paul) Sisneros of Clitherall; sister, Bonnie Kern; brothers-in-law, Bernie Beckman, Mike (Mary) Wilde; sister-in-law, Judy (Larry) Leitch, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Eugene (Dave) Wilde; father, Joseph Lehman; mother, Gladys (Vance, Lehman) Skoy; brothers-in-law, Loren Kern and Dave Thompson, and sisters, Nancy Beckman and Carol Thompson.
Thank you to all healthcare workers at Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fergus Falls Cancer Center, Mill St. Residences, Lakeview Assisted Living, Good Samaritan Society, and PioneerCare.
Blessed be the memory of Sharon Leona Wilde.
