Ronald Hensch

Ron was born October 21, 1959, to Alfred and Donna Hensch. He graduated with the Class of 1978 in Campbell Tintah High School.

After high school, Ron worked for various companies and eventually became employed with BEK Communications splicing fiber optic cables. He ran a crew to provide fiber optics all over the U.S., New York, Miami and Honolulu. He even made it to Nashua, MN!

On September 5, 1998, he married the love of his life, Cynthia Vondra. Together they created Wood Duck Hollow. They spent many years of labor clearing the river banks and establishing their livelihood and country home on the Otter Tail River.

In 2015, with the sudden loss of Cindy, Ron was compelled to fulfill his and Cindy's dream. With the help of his friends, he tirelessly moved forward keeping their dream alive. When his health declined, he once again, relied on friends and family to assist him.

Ron enjoyed hunting and trapping. At one point he collected fox urine to sell to other hunters. He had a pet fox, Moses, and a pet deer. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was very proud of his fur collection.

Ronald Allen Hensch, 66, of Foxhome, died January 6, 2026, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Donna; wife, Cynthia; nephew, Adam; and father-in-law, Carl Vondra.

Ron is survived by his brothers, Jerry (Becky) and Rick (Barb); sister, Jeanne (Jerry) Rupard; nieces and nephews, Allisha (Juston) Heacox, Josh (Thai) Hensch, Jodi (Jonathan) Volgren, Darick (Mel) Hensch, Jared (Emily) Hensch, Leah (Louis) Blocker and Brady, Chelesea and Timothy Rupard; great nieces and nephews, Alex (Brenna), Arik (Karley), and Andrew Heacox, Oliver and Nolan Hensch, Jane, Jenna and Julia Volgren, Karleigh Hensch, Houstin and Mady, Jack and Baby Hensch due April 2026, Naomi, Joanna and Elias Blocker; great great nephew and niece, Greyson (his little buddy) and Halee; along with many special friends and extended family.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Fergus Falls with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Interment: Western Immanuel Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls, MN
