Robert Jaeger

Robert "Bob" Jaeger, 84, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his residence under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice.

Bob was born September 18, 1939 to Peter and Ruby (Umlauf) Jaeger in Pelican Rapids, MN. Bob graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1957. After high school he went to work for his Uncle Bill at Service Specialty in Tioga, ND.

Bob was united in marriage to Avanelle "Abby" Breckey of Tioga, ND on June 12, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church. They moved to Fergus Falls in 1963 where he began his business career establishing Jaeger Paint and Decorating which evolved into what is known today as Jaeger Furniture. Bob spent some time as a Broker/Realtor and founded Jaeger Realty. After his retirement in January of 2000 Bob and Abby spent their winters in Alamo, Texas.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed those special times with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Avanelle "Abby" of 63 years; three sons, Brad (Julie) Jaeger, Paul (LuAnn) Jaeger, and Scott Jaeger all of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Nate (Chelsea) Jaeger, Amanda Duenow, Cody Jaeger, Brandon Jaeger, Nancy Jaeger, Hana Jaeger, Kate Jaeger, Dustin Young, Brady Young, Alec Johnson, Leila Allen, and Tucker Ugstad, and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Ella, and Chloe Duenow and Easton and Harper Jaeger.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Peter and Ruby; brother, Bill; sister-in-law, Pat, and daughter-in-law, Rachel Jaeger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church or Knute Nelson Hospice.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church.
