Myrna Rose

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Myrna Kay Rose, who departed this life at home with her husband Tad by her side. Myrna was 76 years old.

After growing up and going to school in rural Erhard and graduating from Pelican Rapids High School, Myrna married Loren Nelson in 1967. Together they had five children. Myrna and her family lived in Forest Lake, MN for a few years before moving back to the rural Erhard family farmstead in 1976.

In 1995, Myrna married her last love, Tad Rose. They resided at the farm and raised many animals together. Myrna and Tad were inseparable and spent many hours fishing and deer- looking. She spent her final years with Tad at her side, providing her loving care.

Myrna was a long-time employee of Lake Region Hospital, working in central supply then later in home health care. Myrna's later years were spent as a personal home care provider and housekeeper.

Myrna had a passion for animals including chickens, horses, ducks and geese. She loved her horses and spent many hours riding and driving cart. Her love of fishing made it her favorite pastime, teaching her kids and grandkids there was always time for one more worm. She was a long-time dog owner and breeder of Chinese Pugs and German Shepherds, with the Shepherds always named Duke or Duchess.

Myrna loved to play darts and sit by the campfire with a cold beer in her hand. She loved to visit with her grandkids and spend time teaching them how to bake and fish. Four-wheeler rides and gardening were also staples of life at the farm. Myrna was an avid KBRF weather spotter and listened the Morning Watch daily just to see if she was still alive.

Myrna was a wife, mother, sister, aunt and proudly Nana - never grandma. You would often hear her called by some favorite names: Mom, Mama Myrna, Nana.

Myrna is survived by her husband Tad Rose, her children and grandchildren.

Myrna's children are Thomas (Wendy) Nelson and their children Jacob, Daniel, Seth and Rebecca; Larry Nelson; Kaye Tuttle and her children Brandon and Austin; Jeanette (Andy) Nelson; Janelle (Will) Seedorf and their children, Megan (Matt), Brayden (Lianna), Aubrey, Rhyker, Ava and Adelynn. Myrna has one great-grandchild Declan and his baby sister on the way. Also surviving is her sister Marlene (Gene) Cron and their children Jaclyn (Dale) and their children Tanner and Presley and Karen (Ryan)

Myrna's surviving in-laws include Tad's mom, Darlene Rose and siblings Tim (Marcia), Teri (Mitch), Tami, and Toni.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Everett and Louise Kroll, infant siblings, Larry and Jeanette and father-in-law Bill Rose.

Myrna is certainly at peace and enjoying raising a ruckus again.
