Matthew Thomas Schauff

Matthew Schauff, 46, of Elizabeth, died Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Matthew Thomas Schauff was born September 21, 1980 to Jerome and Diane (Wedll) Schauff in Fergus Falls. He attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1999.

After high school he worked for H & R construction doing road signs and Shoremaster for a couple of years. He was a member of the Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Department. Matthew was a paramedic and volunteered to travel with the oil spill relief. He worked as a paramedic until 2023 for Ringdahl, FM Ambulance, St. Mary's EMS and did maintenance for the Turkey Plant.

He was a member of the Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited, and Minnesota Deer Hunters.

Matthew enjoyed deer hunting, golfing, video games, and watching the MN Twins and Vikings.

Preceding him death were his brother, Mark Schauff and grandparents, Tony and Bev Wedll and George and Eleanor Schauff.

Matthew is survived by his children, Olivia and Tony Schauff; parents, Jerry and Diane Schauff; siblings, Jennifer (Steve) Kolstad and Michael (Molly) Schauff, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026 at Brenny Hall in Elizabeth, MN, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume one-hour prior to the service at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Elizabeth.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Elizabeth

Interment: St. Elizabeth's Catholic Cemetery, Elizabeth, MN
