Mary Haiby, 65, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Essentia in Fargo.
Mary Kay Anderson was born September 19, 1960 to Kenneth and Margaret (Mooney) Anderson in Breckenridge, MN. She attended grade school and high school in Breckenridge. After high school she attended Wahpeton Science and Moorhead Technical College for business.
She worked at Fargo Glass and Paint, Schuller Grain, and Ottertail Power Company in the accounting department. Mary retired in 2023 after almost 40 years at Ottertail Power.
On January 1, 2003, Mary married Allen Haiby in Fergus Falls.
Mary enjoyed traveling, camping, biking, gardening flowers, and golfing. She especially loved baking cookies for Axel and Rogan, and playing basketball and football with them also. She traveled to Arcadia National Park, Bangor Maine, Niagara Falls, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and many places in between. She took various trips to the Black Hills four-wheeling. Mary loved to read and was a member of a book club. She also loved watching old movies. She especially loved cats, and her favorite was Garfield.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Eagle's.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Kenneth and Margaret Anderson; brother, Richard Dale Anderson; brother-in-law, Bernie Boroski, and nephew, Joshua Berg.
Mary is survived by her husband, Allen Haiby; sons, Steven (Carly) Haiby and Craig (Ryan) Foley; grandchildren, Axel and Rogan; siblings, Don (Fran) Anderson, David (Judy) Anderson, Chuck Anderson (Shelly Crandall), Bob (Colleene) Anderson, Judy (Ray) Rieger, Ellen (John) Berg, Debbie (Gerald) Berg, and Sandy Boroski, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
Clergy: Reverend Paul Nelson
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
