Marvin Bellmore

Marvin Bellmore, 92, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, September 17, 2026 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Marvin Frederick Bellmore was born May 1, 1934, to Bill and Katherine (Neppl) Bellmore in Wolverton, MN on a farm near a gravel pit. The family moved to Kent, MN, then to Breckenridge, and back to Kent. They moved to Henning in 1942. He attended grade school in Girard Township and then attended Henning High School.

Marvin joined the United States Army with his brother, Ron in 1952. They completed basic training at Fort Leonardwood, MO. His brother, Ron went to Korea while Marvin went to crane and shovel school at the same camp. He went overseas to France after that. When he returned home, he entered into the Local 49 Union. Then he worked for different contractors, mainly as a crane operator for 42 years. He retired at age 62.

He met the love of his life, JoAnne Holm at the Leaf Lakes Ballroom in Henning. They got married on June 15, 1957 in Bertha, MN. They lived south of Henning on a hobby farm. Together they have one son, Doug and one daughter, Becky. In 1996, Marvin and JoAnne moved to Fergus Falls to be closer to them.

Preceding him in death were his wife, JoAnne; parents, Bill and Katherine Bellmore; brothers, Howard, Lyle, Joe, Ben, and Leon; sisters, Blanche, JoAnne, Jeanette, Marlys, and Diane.

Marvin is survived by his children, Doug (Diana) Bellmore of Melrose and Becky (Dave) Thole of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Jana (Tyler) Brackey of Farimont, Karla (Ben) Harris of Eau Claire, WI, and John (Rachel) Thole of Detroit Lakes; great-grandchildren, Pierce, Fletcher, and Brooks Brackey, Jocelyn, Graham, and Wells Harris, and Hadley, Myles, and Anders Thole.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Interment: St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent, MN

Military Participation: Fergus Falls VFW Post 612 and Fergus Falls American Legion Post 30
