Marjorie Johnson

Marjorie Naomi Johnson, 95, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls under the care of hospice.

Margie was born October 2, 1930 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Inga (Hanson) Salmonson. She was confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Margie graduated from Fergus Falls High School and then attended a one-year program at Northwest Institute of Medical Technology; graduating as a Lab Technician and X-ray Technician.

On June 1, 1963 she married Emery Johnson Jr. in Fergus Falls, MN. Margie worked as a lab technician until their first child was born.

Margie was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. She enjoyed bible study, cooking and baking, caring for her family, and building a home. She was a natural caregiver; caring for her parents, children, grandchildren, and neighbors.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Emery Johnson Jr, parents Frank and Inga Salmonson, brother Wally Salmonson, sister-in-law Donna Salmonson, and in-laws Emery Sr. and Lillian Johnson.

Margie is survived by two children Erik (Kelly) Johnson of Fergus Falls and Amy Johnson of Fargo. She is also survived by three grandchildren Lydia, Kale, and Maren Johnson.

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel with a visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
