Marilyn June Kvam

June Kvam, 99, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, October 5th at Park Gardens Senior Living in Fergus Falls under the care of Moments Hospice.

June was born June 24th, 1927 to Frank and Blanche (Erickson) Funkhouser in Fergus Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at Vukku Lutheran Church in rural Foxhome MN. June grew up and attended school in Campbell MN, graduating in 1945.

On May 4th, 1947 June married Glen Herman. Together they had 2 sons, Burnell and Douglas. Glen passed away on November 1st, 1984.

On November 10th, 1990 June was united in marriage to John Kvam. They made their home in Fergus Falls until John passed away May 31st, 2025.

June is survived by her sons, Burnell (Sonja) of Wendell MN and Douglas (Dianne) of Fergus Falls MN. Grandchildren Tonya (Trevor) Westrom, Lynn (Travis) Johnson, Blair (Crystal) Herman, Darren (Heather) Herman, and Aaron (Maija) Herman. 16 Great Grand-children and 7 Great Great Grand-children and 2 more due in 2027. Siblings, Carol (Wayne) Brendefur and Neal (Barb) Funkhouser all of Fergus Falls; numerous nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her husbands, Glen Herman and John Kvam; parents, Frank and Blanche Funkhouser; infant sister, Lorraine; sister, Eileen (Burton) Younger; brothers, Donald (Betty) Funkhouser and Curtis (Gloria) Funkhouser; and great granddaughter, Emily Lynn Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Vukku Lutheran Cemetery Association and Moments Hospice, Alexandria MN.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Krista Sullivan, Officiant

Interment: Vukku Lutheran Cemetery, Foxhome, MN
