Lorrin Jordahl

Lorrin Jordahl, 90, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Lorrin Julian Jordahl was born May 2, 1936 in Pelican Rapids to Ethel (Mundstock) and Lars Jordahl. He was the first son and middle child. He was raised in Pelican Rapids and attended school there until he and a friend moved to Wyoming to do construction work. While growing up, he helped on local turkey farms and also helped his uncle at the local movie theater and worked with his father at various jobs.

After returning to Minnesota, he was drafted in the 1958 and joined the Untied States Army. Lorrin took basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado. He furthered his training at Fort Ord, California. Following that, he was sent to Germany where he served in the Quarter Masters until he returned to Minnesota and was discharged in 1960. He then worked a variety of jobs including the telephone company and also helped build the Jewel Motel in Fergus Falls.

In 1967, he and a friend heard that nursing students completing their education at the State Hospital might be at the entertainment venues in Elizabeth so they went there and he met a young lady from Brainerd and the rest is history. Following a brief courtship, they were married in September of 1967 and recently celebrated their 59th anniversary.

They lived in Fergus Falls where their two oldest children were born and when he started working for Great Plains Natural Gas Company, retiring after 30-years. The family moved to Breckenridge where their third child was born. All of their children attended and graduated from Breckenridge schools.

Following his retirement, they moved to Lake Lida near Pelican Rapids where they lived until 2000 and then due to his wife's job at Lake Region Healthcare, they moved back to Fergus Falls where they have since resided. Multiple health issues slowed him down in later years but he was always a car guy and a member of several car clubs. He enjoyed taking his show cars to car shows.

Lorrin is survived by his wife, Katherine (Kucera); his daughter, Kristine (Mike Olson); sons, David (Sahro) and Kevin; grandchildren, Ashley (Will) Frost, Hanaa Jordahl, Muhanad Jordahl, Munasser Jordahl, Hayva Jordahl, Brian Jordahl, and Isaac (Maggie) Jordahl; great-grandsons, Christopher Pierce, Grant Frost, and Dawson Jordahl. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Polly (Steve) Frasl; brothers-in-law, Gene (Terri) Kucera and Dale (Gladys) Kucera, and many nieces, and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lars and Ethel; sister, Mary Ann, and a brother, Jerome and his wife, Judy.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
