Linda F Emery

Linda Faye Emery passed away March 9th, 2026, at the age of 86, at Park Gardens Assisted Living in Fergus Falls, MN. This happened after an unexpected, short battle with brain cancer.

Linda was born February 4th, 1940, in Frazee, MN to Erwin and Idella (Kratzke) Stender. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vergas, MN. She graduated high school in 1957 from Perham, MN. On June 9th, 1963, she married her husband, Ervin Emery at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vergas. Together they raised four children in Edwards, MN in the house they built together.

Linda's most important job was raising her four children. She also had various other jobs throughout her life such as cleaning cabins, working at West Central Turkey's, and a turkey farm. In addition, she used her gifts and talents to serve generously to others for most of her life.

If anyone knew Linda, they knew her biggest talent was sewing or truly anything involving a crafting needle. When her daughters were growing up, she would make them clothing and stitch up old clothes for her outdoorsy husband, Ervin. By the time she was a great-grandma, Linda had crocheted, knitted, and quilted dozens of items that now are left for her family and friends of the Care and Share Group at Tonseth Lutheran Church where she was an active member.

Linda is survived by her four children, all living in Erhard, MN, Scott (Laurie) Emery, Lori (Todd) Lofgren, Lisa Emery, and Kevin (Vicki) Emery; 13 grandchildren, Shawntel, Dylan, Christopher, Casey, Molly, Mariah, Matt, Josh, Sarah, Jacob, Amanda, Jessica, and Justin; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; brothers-in-law, Gary (Nancy) Emery and Cyril Palubicki, and sister-in-law, Sylvia Dutcher.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Emery; parents, Erwin Stender, Idella (Harold) Neu; father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Tillie Emery; siblings, Wayne (Bonnie) Neu, David Neu, and Karen Palubicki; brother-in-law, Robert (Elsie) Emery; nephews, Timothy Neu, Danny Fjeld, and niece, Debbie Emery.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Olson Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Interment: Tonseth Cemetery, rural Erhard, MN
