Lillian Elizabeth (Washek) Jacobson, known as "Grandma Punk" 93, of Fergus Falls, passed away on September 13, 2025 at her home under the loving care of HIA Hospice and her children.
Lillian was born to Leo and Dorothy (Kiser) Washek on March 3, 1932 at their home in Svendrup Township. She was confirmed at the Maine Catholic Church and graduated from Underwood High School in 1950. Lillian was a member of Tordenskjold Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Underwood.
Lillian married Kenneth Jacobson on September 30, 1950. They lived on the Jacobson family farm south of Underwood. She was a stay-at-home mom raising six kids, baking bread every other day, gardening, and helping on the farm. She was a very good homemaker. In the late 60's she went to work outside the home as a seamstress at Rosenblatts in Fergus Falls until they closed. Then onto West Central Linens where she was employed until her retirement in 2006.
Because of her love of music, she taught herself to play the piano by ear. She loved to play her piano and we could hear her play as we walked up the driveway after school where we would find fresh baked bread. Sometimes she would make us "fried men". She always enjoyed a hot cup of coffee, a very cold beer, and good chocolate. She was fun-loving, full of life, and never said no to going to visit family. Whether it was a trip to the cities or visiting family closer to home. Most of all her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family and especially her grandchildren, which was often. If they wanted to play cards, she would play cards, if the wanted to play a game, that is what they would do. We are all going to miss "Grandma Punk" very much.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jacobson; son, John Jacobson; daughter, Nancy Seeba; grandson, Alvin Seeba; granddaughter, Aly Swanson (Lynch); great-granddaughter, Jennings Jeppesen; parents, Leo and Dorothy Washek; sister, Mary Anderson & Shirley Severson; and brothers, Willy, Larry, and Kenny Washek.
Lillian is survived by her children, Vicki Jeppesen (Gary) of Underwood, James Jacobson of Underwood, Kathy Greer (Scott) of Eagan, Julie Kugler (Greg) of Erhard; son-in-law, Earl Seeba of Fergus Falls; daughter-in-law, Darla Jacobson of Erhard; grandchildren, Brad Jeppesen (Becky) of Rosemount, Liz Battaglia (Anthony) of Inver Grove Heights, Ryan Jeppesen (Lisa) of Rosemount, Carla Solvinsky (Jim) of Fergus Falls, Amy Van Neval (Mike) of Sartell, Mandy Rich (Kyle) of Erhard, Matt Lynch of Shakopee, Amber Kopka (Sean) of Bloomington, Crystal Hoekstra (Matt) of Erhard, John Kugler (Nikki) of Erhard, Tricia Ramatar of Bloomington, Mitch Jeppesen (Macall) of Clitherall, Adam Peasley and Jenna Peasley both of Erhard; 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Jerry Washek (Renee) of Underwood, one brother-in-law, Earl "Bud" Severson of Fergus Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews.
