Kirk Hexum, 53, of Rothsay, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
Kirk Gene Hexum was born February 9, 1970, in Fergus Falls, to Myron and JoAnn (Lysne) Hexum. He attended Rothsay Public School and graduated from Rothsay High School in 1988.
He was a member of the United States Air Force for four and a half years, serving in Desert Storm. He received the Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, AF Over Seas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, Longevity Service Ribbon, and AF Good Conduct Medal.
Over the years, Kirk was employed as an electrician at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls and St. Cloud Veteran’s Home, as an electrical Supervisor at the beet plant in Wahpeton, and a mechanic at Don Sportland.
He enjoyed ice fishing, working on cars, work on the farm, spending times with his boys, listening to classic rock music, and camping.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Myron and JoAnn Hexum.
Kirk is survived by his children, Andrew (Kelsie) Hexum and Alex Hexum; grandchild, Madden Hexum; siblings, Wanda (Al) Flatin, Kevin (Sheryl) Hexum, and Jodi Christianson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
