Julianne Rae Sethre

Julianne Sethre, 88, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at her residence in Fergus Falls, surrounded by her family.

Julianne Rae Sletting was born to Edythe Luella Sletting in Fargo, ND. She attended grade school and high school in Fairmount, ND graduating as valedictorian of her class in 1956. She then attended St. Luke's School of Nursing and graduated with her Registered Nursing Degree in 1960.

On September 24, 1960 Julianne married LeRoy Sethre in Fairmount.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Fairmount ND Clinic, a Migrant School, Red River Clinic in Wahpeton; she was also the family nurse who fielded all family medical questions. She was also a secretary at American Family Insurance in Wahpeton.

Julianne was a member of the West Brandrup Homemakers since 1966 and a former Sunday School teacher. She was an organist at the church and played in a dance band. She enjoyed rosemaling and sewing. Julianne enjoyed baking and was famous for her "Julie" chocolate brownies.

She was a devoted grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Edythe Kolbe; grandparents, Julian and Minnie (Jacobson) Sletting; brothers-in-law, Harvey Brause and Russel Sethre; sister-in-law, Joyce Brause, and nephew, Christopher Sethre.

Julianne is survived by her husband, LeRoy Sethre of Fergus Falls; her children, Bryan Sethre of Fergus Falls and Pam (Norman) Caldwell of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Lee Mai of Lexington, KY and Myan Mai of Chicago, IL, and step-grandson, Cole Caldwell of Ramsey.

Interment: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls, MN
