Joanne Larson

Joanne Margaret Larson, 81, of Dalton, MN passed away September 28, 2026 at Sanford in Fargo, ND surrounded by her family.

Joanne was born to George Miller Rossow and Mable Lillian (Hanson) Rossow on November 17, 1944 in Fergus Falls, MN.

Joanne attended high school in Fergus Falls before attending Bemidji State University to receive her teaching degree. Out of college, she taught school in Pelican Rapids. She married William Larson in 1969. She later became a substitute teacher in Fergus Falls for 30 years.

Joanne made numerous trips to Norway over the years and was on bowling leagues in her younger years. She loved planting flowers in her many gardens both at the lake and at the farm. She picked up quilting and enjoyed making numerous treasures for her family. The highlights of her life revolved around her grandson, Tristan. From "daycare" to games to weekends at a water park to swim meets, she was in her glory if it involved him. She held a special excitement for Spring 2027 when she was to welcome her great grandson into the world.

Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Mable Rossow; her in-laws, Leonard and Lois Larson; son, Bill Todd Larson, and infant son, Jon Charles Larson.

Survivors include her husband, William Larson of Dalton; daughter, Dawn (Doug) Trosvig of Fergus Falls, and grandson, Tristan (Bethany) Trosvig of Fergus Falls.

A private family service will be held, along with a private family interment.
