JoAnne Bellmore

JoAnne Bellmore, 86, of Fergus Falls, died June 11, 2025, at PioneerCare.

JoAnne Helen (Holm) Bellmore was born on August 14, 1938 in Wadena, MN to Palmer and Hilda (Thomas) Holm. She attended school in Henning, MN graduating with the class of 1956. She met Marvin Bellmore at a dance. They married on June 15, 1957 and have been happily married for 68 years. They have two children, Douglas and Rebecca (Becky). The family lived on a farm close to Henning.

JoAnne loved to garden, fish, raise chickens, and occasional trips to the casino. She worked at various jobs in Henning including the insurance company and the Henning school.

Her greatest joy was Marvin, her two children, and their families.

In 1996 they sold their Henning farm and moved to Fergus Falls to be closer to family. They also made a few trips to Mesa, AZ in the winter.

On January 18, 2021 JoAnne suffered a stroke leaving her paralyzed on one side which confined her to a wheelchair. She moved to PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls on February 3, 2021 where she remained until her death. She remained positive and accepting of her condition. She and Marv made a lot of friends at PioneerCare as Marv would push her in her wheelchair and they would visit with residents and staff many times a day. She especially enjoyed music and bingo at the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Hilda Holm; brother, David Holm; sister, Marilyn Zarn; nephews, Bill and Richard Holm; mother and father-in-law, William and Catherine Bellmore; Lyle Bellmore; Howard (Irene) Bellmore; in-laws, Joseph (Esther) Bellmore; Blanch Layland; Marlys (Lenzie) Hennagin; Jeanette (Duke) Leitch; Leon (Carol) Bellmore; Ben (Wanetta) Bellmore; JoAnn (Del) Estes; and Diane Newhouse.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin; son, Douglas (Diana) Bellmore; daughter, Rebecca (Dave) Thole; grandchildren, Jana (Tyler) Brackey; Karla (Ben) Harris; John (Rachel) Thole; great-grandchildren, Pierce, Fletcher, & Brooks Brackey; Jocelyn, Graham, & Wells Harris; and Hadley & Myles Thole.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025 at Olson Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski

Interment: St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Kent MN
