Janet Haller

Janet Haller, 98, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, June 12, 2025 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Janet Haller was born October 31,1926 to Joseph and Mary (Warzecha) Opatz. She attended Fergus Falls schools and after graduation she entered Bethesda Hospital X-ray training. She worked in St Paul and Fargo clinics for several years. She married Edward Haller on October 11, 1957 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Fergus Falls. She and Edward had three children - Mike Haller, Sue Haller, and Sarah Bugbee, two grandchildren - Zane (Cassie) Bugbee and Katie (Lucas) Buttke.

In earlier years, she served OLV church in many capacities, including serving in the St. Teresa Circle and the parish council, and she became active in Stephen Ministry. She volunteered at the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and drill team, Prairie Wetlands, Center for the Arts, and the Veterans Home. She was an Avon Lady for many years. She enjoyed swimming, walking, clogging, and wintering in Arizona with Ed.

Preceding her in death were her husband Edward, daughter Sarah, sisters Evelyn Devorak, Delphine Spranger, and half-brothers Joe, Ray, and John Stewart. She is survived by son Mike, daughter Sue (Kris Peterson), son-in-law Rick Bugbee, grandchildren Katie and Zane, great-grandchildren Keaton, Kolby, Norah, Vayda, Noah, and Bailey; and siblings Leona Lackner, Mary Juhl, and Marcus Opatz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece Diane (Ron) Scott. She expressed special thanks for OLV outreach and her care at PioneerCare.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at PioneerCare Chapel in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski and Deacon Chuck Kampa

Interment: St. Ottos Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls, Minnesota
