Heather Mortenson Libby, 39, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Heather Renee Mortenson Libby was born March 9, 1987, in Fergus Falls, to Susan (Petersen) Martinson and Steven Mortenson. She grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls and Rothsay and earned her GED as an adult. She was employed as a CNA.

Heather is survived by her parents, Susan Martinson and Steve and Karen (step-mother) Mortenson; five children, Kenneth Jr., Nevaeh, Destiny, Serenity and Wyatt; sisters, Steph Mortenson, Jessi Otto, Sharon Tolan, Ashlee Krimbill; brother, Jason Rudnick; nephews, Brendin and Kaidin Otto, Tyrone Mortenson, Dominic, Mason and Elijah Doehring; great-niece, Jazzlyn Rose; godbrother, Jason Prince, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dale and Marguerite Petersen and Norman and Elvina Mortenson; uncles, David and Frederick Petersen; aunt and uncle, David and Linda Anderson; uncle, Larry Mortenson; several extended family and cousins; godparents, Sandy and Denny Prince; godbrothers, Jeremy and Jim Prince; brother, Darin Gerhardson

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, Fergus Falls, MN.
