Gladys L Hanson

Gladys Lillian (Lee) Hanson, 103, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, MN.

Gladys was born on July 29, 1922 to Thomas and Agnes (Bertram) Lee in Grand Rapids, MN and was the middle child of six brothers and seven sisters. In 1928 the family, along with a train pulling several boxcars full of farm animals, moved from the family farm in Grand Rapids to Buse Township in rural Fergus Falls where she attended school district #31 and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1940.

On July 29, 1951, Gladys married Oscar B. Hanson in Fergus Falls MN. God blessed them with three children Debi, Loren and Kevin. After being a stay-at-home mom with her children in their younger years, Gladys began a career with Olson Furniture & Funeral Home where she served as the office manager. She loved working for the Olson family and was a long-time dedicated employee working there until her late 70's.

Gladys loved the outdoors and would spend her summers...bare foot...in the garden where she raised beautiful flowers that she arranged and were displayed in her church each week as well as arrangements she did for special occasions. She was an avid learner often reading books until early hours in the morning. She also had an artistic side often expressed in paintings and artwork she enjoyed working with. She cherished her family time which often entailed going out to eat, or sharing a good story over a cup of coffee and prayed for them daily. Most importantly, she loved the Lord, her Savior, spending daily time in devotions reading her Bible and in prayer.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Oscar; brothers, Earl (Evelyn), Clifford (Laverne), Marvin (Dorothy Mae), Charley (Carol), Woodrow (Lucille); sisters, Goldie (Arnold Neumann), Hazel (Regnar Jensen), Sylvia (Carl Miller, George McCollough), Dorothy (Rangvald Lindley), Clara (Clarence) Peasley and infant sister, Minnie; sister-in-law Delores Lee; and brothers-in-law Ronald Ripley and Gordon Graber.

Gladys is survived by her three children, Debi (Nate) Larsen, Fergus Falls; Loren (Lavonn) Hanson, Fergus Falls; Kevin (Susan) Hanson, West Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren, Andy (Kelsey) Larsen, Charles (Courtney) Larsen, Emma (Than) Baardsen, Jonathan Hanson, Lindsay (Andy) Lohse, Joshua Hanson, Benjamin (Lynae) Hanson, Jordan (Jessica) Hanson; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Lee, Fergus Falls; sisters, Lynette Ripley, Fergus Falls; Helen Graber, Spokane, WA; along with many nieces and nephews.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026 at the LB Broen Home Light and Life Auditorium in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Interment: Bethlehem Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
