Dorene Carrison, 90, of Underwood, died peacefully Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan.

Dorene Jean Klimek was born July 27, 1935 to William and Ruth (Gullickson) Klimek in Woodside Township, near Parkers Prairie, MN. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School.

On November 5, 1954, Dorene married Charles "Chuck" Carrison at Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, MN.

She worked in food service at the Underwood Public School for 20 years. Dorene was a member of Sverdrup Lutheran Church, Underwood, MN.

Family was very important to her. Dorene was very kind and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, fishing when Chuck was alive, casino trips, and making lefse. Dorene made the best homemade mac and cheese ever and gave the best back scratches.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; her parents, William and Ruth Klimek; in-laws, Robert and Martha Carrison; sisters, Darlene, Eleanor, Clarise; brothers, Wilbert and Alton; sisters-in-law, Donna, Sylvia, Muriel, Rita, Beverly, Leila, and Dorothy; brothers-in-law, Robert, Darrel, Frank, Jack, Ron, Bud, Bill, Cliff, and Ken; friend, Patty Trosvig, and numerous extended family.

Dorene is survived by her children, Kim (John) Mark of Dalton, Victoria (Lou) Abraham of Blaine, Jodi (Brad) Abel of Dalton, Lesley (Trevor) Funkhouser of Underwood, and Angie (Pat) Pickar of Baxter; grandchildren, Heather (Darren) Herman, Jamie (Emily) Schmidt, Tyler (Jackie) Jacobson, Trista (Josiah) Loeks, Lindsay (Billy) Milbeck, Chris (Calie) Mark, Haley Abraham, Chayse Pickar, and Iyana Pickar; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lois Appelget, Marti (Joe) Fuccy, and Helen Christenson; brother-in-law, Lewis Berge, and numerous other family.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Interment at a later date at the Sverdrup Lutheran Cemetery, Underwood, MN
