David Kilde

David C. Kilde, 63, died Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Traditions II Assisted Living in Owatonna.
Memorials preferred to Otter Tail County Humane Society building project.

David Cameron Kilde was born October 20, 1960, to Loren C. “Bud” and Mary Jo (Baker) Kilde in Fergus Falls. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1979 attended Fergus Falls Community College.

He was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at multiple elder care facilities in the Twin Cities and Rochester. He thoroughly enjoyed taking care of “all his grandmas and grandpas.”

David married Carmen M. Bergerson in 1982 and they had their son, Matthew L. Kilde later that year. Matthew and Dana’s children (David’s grandchildren) are all living and include, Kaitlyn, Lexi, Caleb, Lucas, Jackson and Marcus of Rathdrum, ID. In 1988, David married Chris Newstrom in Excelsior and they had twin boys, Joshua David and Jeremy Michael in 1990.

His interests included piano, French horn, swimming, high school football and biking. He loved spectator sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and the Wild.

He is preceded in death by his father, Loren C “Bud” Kilde; grandparents, John Sr. and Clara Kilde and Roy and Inez Baker; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Kilde; sisters, Judy Kilde and Sue Kilde; sons, Matthew (Dana), Joshua Kilde, and Jeremy Kilde; aunt, Lavonne Baker; uncle and aunt, John and Janet Kilde; and numerous cousins.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
