Basil Nicholas Keller was born August 27, 1930 in Tintah, MN to Nicholas and Mary (Koziol), the third of eleven children. He attended country school in Tintah through the eighth grade.
He joined the United States Army in 1951 serving in Landshut, Germany. He held many different positions, including Tank Commander. Basil was honorably discharged in 1953.
On June 14, 1955 he married Joyce Arens in Wheaton. She died August 1965, leaving Basil behind with six children. Basil then married Lorraine Christopherson on September 29, 1979 in Fergus Falls. Lorraine brought with her three children.
He was a farmer until 1979 and then a mechanic in the agriculture industry.
Basil enjoyed tinkering in his shop, wood working, fishing, playing cards, and puzzles. He was very meticulous with his lawn mowing.
Basil, 94, of Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully Monday, June 2, 2025 at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls surrounded by family.
Basil is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Fergus Falls; children, Debra (Andy) Albrecht of Williams, Michael (Linda) Keller of Kinney, Barbara (Rick) Hensch of Campbell, Vicki Keller of Moorhead, Angela (David) Larson of Lisbon, ND; daughter-in-law, Barby Keller of Lakeville; step-sons, Greg (Michelle) Christopherson of Truxton, MO and Mark (Brenda) Christopherson of Fergus Falls; step-daughter, Kathy Brown of Texas; grandchildren, Matt (Aprille) Albrecht, Nick Keller, Kristina Keller, Darick (Melanie) Hensch, Jared (Emily) Hensch, Leah (Louis) Blocker, Bryce (Nicole) Larson, Ashley Larson, Eric (Melissa) Hunter, James (Aann) Christopherson, Amanda (Brandon) Burns, Jenny (Jules) Gonzales, and Nick (Sommer) Myogeto; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Kate Albrecht, Evelyn Thomas, Karleigh Hensch, Madi Koskiniemi, Jack Hensch, Naomi, Joanna, and Elias Blocker, Addison and Mali Christopherson, Daunte, Cody, and Tanya Hunter; siblings, Gladys Braun, Lloyd Keller, Richard Keller, Ardis Arnhalt, Jerry Keller, and Donald Keller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Nick and Mary; wife, Joyce; infant son, Raymond; son, Tom; grandson, Joey; brothers, Marvin, Robert, and Roger; sister, Judy, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 at Olson Funeral and Cremation, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.

Interment: St. Galls Catholic Cemetery, Tintah, MN
