Audrey (Rinke) Jackson 92, a resident of Pioneer Care, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026.
She was born May 25, 1933 in Dumont, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur and Erna (Walz) Rinke. She attended country school at District 25, in Traverse County and West Central School of Agriculture in Morris Minnesota, graduating in 1951. Following graduation she worked in a bank in Wheaton, MN. Four years later she traveled to Los Angeles, California where she worked for Western Growers Association and Texas Oil Company.
In 1957 she returned to Minnesota. She married Carmon Jackson on October 18, 1958 at St John's Lutheran Church in Wheaton, MN. They lived in numerous towns around Minnesota and settled in Fergus Falls where they raised their three children and vested in the community for over 50 years.
Audrey was always active in volunteer church work and a long-time member at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She served on many committees and later as Treasurer, V.P. and was the first woman to be President of the Church Council. She also served the same offices in WELCA and as a member of the Upper Midwest Synod Board. Audrey was known affectionately at her place of employment, Dorn & Co., as the "church lady" as she was constantly organizing, promoting, and attending all things related to First Lutheran Church. After her retirement, she served as the treasurer of the First Lutheran Foundation board for 12 years.
Audrey worked for Dorn & Co. Inc. for 26 years as Bookkeeper and Office Manager. She was a woman of high ethics and strong character; she brought out the best in others. She was also active in Mrs. Jaycees, Business and Professional Women Club serving as their Treasurer and President and later served on the district board. She served on the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Community College board, American Cancer board, and two years as Chairman of the Scandinavian Days. After retirement she also served on the Y's Folks board and was very active at the YMCA.
She and Carmon traveled during their retirement years and enjoyed going to Texas for a few months during the winter. She loved being with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them, her Swedish rice and braided sweet roll loaves were always requested. Her friends were also a big part of her life, especially her women's bridge groups and their couples bridge group which they were a part of for over 60 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carmon Jackson; her son, Jon Jackson, and her sister, Dorthy Baldry.
Audrey is survived by her son, Todd (Jill) Jackson and their daughter, Hallie (Kirby) Johnson; daughter, Lorri (David) Holt and their children, Megan (Jr) Kugler, Adam (Megan) Barker, Melissa (Steve) Pitts, Dawn (Paul) Hess, and Loretta (Lon) Peterson; Jon's son, Cole Jackson; great-grandchildren, Crosby, Reese, and Graham Johnson, Declan and Sutton Kugler, Cullen and Camden Barker, Trent and Jordyn Pitts, Ethan and Karmyn Schwartz; her sisters, Eileen Honzo, Helen Eastwood, and Mary Lou (Harry) Olson; her brothers, Wilbert (Mary) Rinke and Orval (Sara Lee) Rinke, along with many nieces and nephews.
