Arlyss Haroldson, 90, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, January 30, 2026 at Park Gardens in Fergus Falls.
Arlyss Connie Bomstad was born October 17, 1935 in Lignite, North Dakota to Alvin and Hazel (Hanson) Bomstad. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a graduate of Lignite High School, Trinity Hospital School of Nursing and Moorhead State University.
In 1956, she married Allen T. Haroldson of Ashby, MN at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lignite. They lived in Lignite until 1960 when they moved to Jamestown, ND where Allen began working for Ottertail Power Company. In 1964 they transferred to Fergus Falls.
Arlyss worked at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood, MT and St. Luke's Hospital in Crosby, ND, and Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. In 1968, she began teaching in the Fergus Falls practical Nursing Program through the adult education division at the Fergus Falls Senior High School. In 1971 the nursing program was transferred to the Fergus Falls Community College, where she continued to work until she retired in 1993.
Following their retirement, Allen and Arlyss lived on Pomme de Terre Lake near Elbow Lake, MN and wintered in Arizona. She moved back to Fergus Falls in 2019.
Arlyss was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Goldenrod Chapter of the Eastern Star all in Fergus Falls, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Ashby.
She enjoyed people, music, golfing, walking, swimming, reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Allen Haroldson; her parents, Alvin and Hazel Bomstad, and sisters, Doreen Negaard and Jermaine Undhjem.
Arlyss is survived by her daughter, Alana (John) Fabian of Elbow Lake; two sons, Michael (Diane) Haroldson of Wheatland, WY and James Haroldson of Fergus Falls; nine grandchildren: Jacob and Laura Fabian, Erika, Jeremy, Michaela, Daneille, Charity, Christina, and Gabriel Haroldson; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls with a public visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment: To be held at a later date at Hjerdahl Cemetery, Elbow Lake, MN.
