Arlo Shuck

Arlo Ray Shuck was welcomed into his eternal home in heaven on April 20, 2024 at the age of 89. Arlo was born June 3rd, 1934 to Orville and Lottie (Lacey) Shuck at home in Lawrence Township, Wendell, MN.

Arlo attended a one room country school through eighth grade and graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1952. He married the love of his life, Donna (Lebakken) Shuck on June 2, 1956. They had two sons, Kevin (Cindy Wilson) and Keith (Dorene) Shuck, foster daughters, Bobbie (Corey) Friedemann and Dorothy (Kory) Greiner as well as over 40 foster children from 1987-2000. Arlo served in the Army from April 13, 1959 to May 1, 1961 and he remained in the Army Reserves until April 30,1965. He grew up working on the farm and learned from an early age that hard work was a way of life. Arlo had a love for all things mechanical and carpentry that carried through to his many careers. He then passed his knowledge on to his children and grandchildren. Many were blessed to know him as a gentle, loving, kind and peaceful man who cherished his family and friends. He had a deep appreciation for the simple moments as he basked in the magnificence of God's creation.

Arlo is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Lottie Shuck, sisters Betty Teberg and Charlotte Bullis and great-granddaughter, Averee Lyn. Survived in death by wife Donna, sons Kevin (Cindy Wilson) and Keith (Dorene); foster daughters, Bobbie (Corey) Friedemann and Dorothy (Kory) Greiner; sisters Darla Peterson, Elva (Jim) Asmus, grandchildren, Mallory, Adam, Heather, Austin, Alyssa, Dallas, Taylor, Cole, Grace, Leila, Paul, Emma, great-grandchildren, Taitym, Dalton, Berkley, Sutherlyn, Briggs, Huxley, Finley, Bailey, Melanie, Carter, Bentley, Bridgette, David, Alessio, Halen, and many nieces, nephews, and foster children.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with a visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
