Arlene B. Weisser

April 27, 1925 — October 26, 2023

Arlene B. (Rude) (Adams) Weisser, last living decedent of Hans and Thilda (Brenden) Rude, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Park Gardens Senior Living in Fergus Falls, at the age of 98.

Arlene Bernice Rude was born to Hans and Thilda Rude on April 27, 1925, in Dalton, MN. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church by Reverend Norman. Arlene was confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton by Reverend B.J. Blikstad. At a very young age, Arlene traveled to Seattle, WA to work for Boeing Aircraft Company and became a Rosie the Riveter.

On May 3, 1946, Arlene married Donald Adams at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton. Residing in Dalton their entire married life, they raised three sons, Loren, Rickie, and Richard. Arlene was very active in the church as Choir Director for many years, directing the senior and youth choirs, and was a member of various singing groups as a soloist. She also taught piano lessons. She and a dear friend, Mary Lou Risbrudt opened a ceramic shop on main street in Dalton named Lee Lou’s Ceramics. Countless hours were spent there creating beautiful works of ceramic. Children would often arrive at the shop after school to take part in creating a special piece of their own. Arlene was an excellent seamstress. Don Adams passed away December 14, 1982.

Arlene married Clifford Weisser on June 1, 1985 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton. Arlene and Clifford resided on Battle Lake during the summer months and wintered in Mesa, AZ. She had many wonderful friends and enjoyed entertaining them as often as she could. Clifford passed away April 6, 2015.

She was a member of the Ashby Dalton American Legion Auxiliary.

For the past eight years, Arlene has been a resident of Park Gardens Senior Living in Fergus Falls where she spent her days visiting with family, playing her piano, and singing. She loved the staff and always had something funny to share with them and they in turn loved her dearly.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Hans and Tillie Rude; nine brothers; one sister; son, Loren Adams; step-son, Terry Weisser; step-daughter, Sandy Molacek; a grandson and granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law.

Arlene is survived by her sons, Rickie (Peggy) Adams of Ashby and Richard (Gena) Adams of Olympia, WA; step-children, Pam (Kim) Beckius of Horace, ND and Rick (Cathy) Weisser of Fargo; daughter-in-law, Ida Adams of Rogers; step-son-in-law, Robert (Pam) Molacek of Twin Cities Metro; grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Adams, Cain (Megan) Adams, Adam (Tyken) Beckius, Erin (Jordan) Fulsebakke, Jenna Weisser, Nick Weisser, Chelsea (Jonah) O’Neill, and Luke (Rachel) Molacek; great-grandchildren, Ian and Henry Adams, Parker and Anson Adams, Grace and Faith Beckius, and Jace and Graiden Fulsebakke.
