Thomas E. Hardyman

Thomas E. Hardyman, 90, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, with his family by his side.

He was born on March 5, 1927, the son of John P. and Helen C. (Frey) Hardyman, in Brookfield, IL.

On September 18, 1954, Thomas married Pat Anne Durham in Brookfield, IL. In 1972, they moved to Minnesota from Illinois and bought Riverside Resort on Otter Tail Lake.

Thomas served in the United States Army from 1945-1947 during WWII. He held various jobs and lived in 3 different states, Minnesota, Illinois, and North Carolina.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory in Fergus Falls, Wounded Warrior Project, and the VA Choir at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
Thomas was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, living long enough to see both teams win championships. A highlight of his life was getting to go to the Super Bowl in New Orleans to see the Minnesota Vikings play. He also enjoyed fishing, and bowling where he met his future wife.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, John (Marilyn) Hardyman; sister, Helen (Mel) Budo; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth (Gene) Janicke, Marion (Tony) Olson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul (Mary) Durham, Bob (Joan) Durham; nieces, Mary Lou Hardyman, Judy Pevitts; nephews, Larry Hardyman, John Olson; granddaughter, Laura Hardyman; great-granddaughter, Hannah Vigesaa.

Survivors include his wife, Pat of Fergus Falls; 3 sons, Ron (Cheryl) Hardyman of Fergus Falls, Curly (Nancy) Hardyman of Helena, MT, Steve (Kathy) Hardyman of Fergus Falls; sister-in-law, Janet Durham of Iowa; grandchildren, Patrick Hardyman of Portland, OR, Tara (Matt) Nadgwick of Fergus Falls, Joe Hardyman of MT, Tami (Steve) Vigesaa of Fergus Falls, Chris (Cara) Hardyman of MT, Michael (Carrie) Reinhold of Utah; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Sadie, Daphnie, AudrieAnne Nadgwick, Josiah, Eden, Delia Vigesaa, and Kalynn, Hope, Taylor, Brayden Reinhold; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to the Recreation Fund-Minnesota Veterans Home of Fergus Falls.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
