Shizue "Sue" Raguse

May 13, 1925 — March 4, 2017

Shizue “Sue” Raguse, 91, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Sue was one of eight children born to Tokunosk and Asa Hashimoto, on May 13, 1925 in Hokkaido, Japan. She grew up in Japan and attended school there. After graduation, she attended seamstress school.

Sue met Duane Raguse while he was serving in the United States Army and stationed in Japan. They were married on November 6, 1956 in Japan and the couple moved to Fergus Falls in 1957. Throughout the years, Sue worked for the turkey plant and retired from West Central Linens after working there for over twenty-two years.

Sue loved sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and was like a mother to her granddaughter, Alyssa. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Raguse in 2000.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Patti Raguse of Moorhead; a granddaughter, Alyssa (Tim Porter) Raguse of Moorhead; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ophelia; sisters-in-law, Helen Buchholz of Fergus Falls and Shirley Erickson of Nixa, MO, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Service: 2:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls
