Shirley Jeanniane Aasgaard age 89 of Fergus Falls, MN died July 9, 2020 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Jeanniane Thorson was born on February 5, 1931 to Albert and Jonnette (Dorseth) Thorson. She grew up at Flom, MN and International Falls, MN. She was Baptized and Confirmed at Aspelund Lutheran Church in Flom. She graduated from Falls High School in International Falls.
On August 15, 1951 she was united in marriage to Laurel “Ozzie” Aasgaard at Aspelund Lutheran Church. They lived in Georgia while Ozzie served in the US Army before moving to Virginia, MN in 1953. They moved to Detroit Lakes, MN in 1960 and then to Duluth, MN in 1974 for one year before moving to Wadena, MN. They returned to Detroit Lakes in 1989. Ozzie passed away in 2013 and she moved to Fergus Falls in 2017.
Jeanniane was an active member at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes and with Cub Scouts. She helped Ozzie with their business, Lakeland Mobile Radio Service, in Detroit Lakes for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Stuart (Linda) Aasgaard of Bozeman, MT; Dean Aasgaard of Richfield, MN; Paul (Lisbeth) Aasgaard of Fergus Falls, MN; one daughter, Jane Miller of Plymouth, MN; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Lois Engstrand; and her son-in-law, Jeff Miller.
