Russell E Stock

Russell Stock, 88, of Fergus Falls died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

Russell Elmer Stock was born April 22, 1930, in Fergus Falls, to Elmer and Edna (Iverson) Stock. He grew up in Buse Township, attended country school there and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1948. After high school he joined the National Guard and was called to active duty at Camp Rucker in Alabama.

He farmed on the family farm until the middle 1970’s, he then began working for the City of Fergus Falls and the route truck for the Grain Belt Distributor.

On November 11, 1961, he married Marie Witt Hutchins in Fergus Falls.

Russell loved to fish, enjoyed reading and read the encyclopedia set twice. In later years, he enjoyed reading western books, was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, and followed the Minnesota Vikings.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie, in November 2010; five siblings, William, Richard, Ann Gundberg, Alta High, Walter Stock; two daughters-in-law, Lynette Hutchins and Ellen Hutchins.

Russell is survived by children, Roger Hutchins of Fergus Falls, Gary (Jeanie) Hutchins of Fergus Falls, Doug Stock of Fargo, ND, Roxanne (Dale) Meyer of Wahpeton, ND, and Frank Stock of Fergus Falls; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his twin sister, Ruth Berg of Fergus Falls.

Visitation: One hour prior to the Memorial Service at the church.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
