Regina "Jean" Janet Wahl

Regina “Jean” Janet Wahl, 87, of Fergus Falls passed away, Friday, April 12, 2019, at PioneerCare.

Regina Janet was born on November 11, 1931, in Oglesby, Illinois the daughter of Joseph and Regina (Faletti) Baima. Growing up in Illinois, she graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School of Peru, Illinois in 1949. In 1953, she graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Joliet, Illinois as a Registered Nurse.

On June 26, 1954, she married Donald Wahl at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oglesby, IL where the couple then resided. Regina worked at the Dr. John Rock Clinic as an R.N. in Oglesby and also in Private Duty Nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital of LaSalle while raising their children. In 1969, the family moved to Fergus Falls. Regina was employed at Lake Region Hospital on the surgical floor until 1979. She then became employed at the Regional Treatment Center working as an R.N. on the Developmentally Disabled Unit until her retirement on July 13, 1994. The couple enjoyed spending time in Arizona and at their rural home near Fergus Falls.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and then later a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church where she participated in Christian Mothers. She also was a member of V.F.W. Post #612.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Donald; sister, Florence Mozina; and grandson, Christopher Wahl.

Survivors include her two sisters, Louise Pienta of Georgia and Jolene Colsant of New Jersey; three sons, Donald (Evelyn) Wahl of Tucson, AZ, Daniel (Linda) Wahl of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Dennis (Ann) Wahl of Riverside, CA, four daughters, Denise (Steve) Welch of Salisbury, NH, Dawn Claire (Dan) Burns of Yankton, SD, DiAnne (Chad) Biss of Wendell, MN, Debra (Robert) Stone of Jefferson, GA, 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or other non-profit of choice.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church with a 10:30 a.m. Rosary
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls, MN
Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski, Deacon Pete Bellavance and Father Bill Gamber
Interment: St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth, MN
