Patrick Joseph Murray, 31, of Fergus Falls, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, surrounded by his loving family.
Patrick was born on June 29, 1987, in Fergus Falls, to proud parents, Joseph and Cynthia (Olson) Murray and welcomed home by big brothers, Dustin and Christopher. Patrick grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from high school there in 2005. He studied at Mankato State University before pursuing his service work with the most vulnerable populations. He was incredibly proud of his work with adults with special needs, children, people dealing with addiction, those needing emergency care, and the poor and forgotten children of Haiti. Patrick’s heart was big and open and he had many people around him lucky enough to call him their friend. He will be incredibly missed by so many whose lives he made better.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Cynthia and father, Joseph of Fergus Falls; brothers, Christopher (Melissa) of St. Louis Park and Dustin (Erica) of Moorhead; grandmother, June Olson of Fergus Falls; nieces, Lucy, Alice and Sally of St. Louis Park; aunts, Lynn (John) Otterson of Lisbon, ND, and Linda Olson of Fergus Falls; uncles, Bryon (Stacy) Olson of Richville and Ron Jensen of Tucson, AZ; many cousins; many, many friends and two cats.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Samuel Joseph Murray and Robert Duane Olson; grandmother, Lois Way (Sanderson) Murray; uncle, Michael Olson and aunt, Patricia (Murray) Jensen.
In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be donated to help the children of Haiti. A cause near and dear to Patrick.
Please refrain from perfume or fragrance due to family allergies.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls with a public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls.
