Marjorie "Margie" Scheidecker

November 23, 1924 — July 19, 2018

Marjorie “Margie” Ann Scheidecker, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, July 19, 2018. This beautiful soul has left this life, but the legacy she leaves us will be a source of inspiration forever.

She was born on November 23, 1924, to Frank C. and Beva M. (Stevens) Staudacher in Perham, MN. Margie was baptized and confirmed at St. Henry’s Church of Perham and graduated from Perham High School in 1942. Margie then worked at Perham State Bank for five years.

On June 21, 1947, Margie married Roy Scheidecker at St. Henry’s Church in Perham. The couple lived in Perham until 1951 when Roy was transferred to Rugby, ND. In 1959, they moved back to Minnesota and settled in Fergus Falls. Margie began her career at Otter Tail County Social Services in 1959, and she retired in 1986.

Margie loved needle work of all kinds, reading, embordering hundreds of sets of dish towels for the missions and watching Jeopardy every day at 5 o’clock. Her faith and her church were very important to her. Margie was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls, as well as a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy in 2003; siblings, Myrtle Sloan and Francis Staudacher, Lucille Sebby and Mary Sahli; and a great-grandbaby, Liam Michael in 2017.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Bob) Warn, Gary (Anne) Scheidecker, Michael (Karen) Scheidecker, Connie (Brad) Torgerson, Craig (Janelle) Scheidecker, Amy (Mark) Cory; grandchildren, Robert (Tracey) Warn, Chris (Emily) Scheidecker, Ian (Molly) Scheidecker, Tyler Scheidecker, Trent (Laura) Scheidecker, Tony Scheidecker, Jessica Neuleib, Brett (Kari) Neuleib, Drew (Ashton) Torgerson, Grant (Shannon) Torgerson, Joseph (Beth) Scheidecker, Adam Scheidecker, Grace and Hannah Cory, and nine great-grandchildren.
