Lorraine Joyce Peterson

Lorraine Joyce Peterson, 90, a resident of Folsom, CA, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Underwood, MN, under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Lorraine was born on September 8, 1926 in rural Erhard, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Lekve) Norgren. She grew up in rural Erhard and attended country school.
On April 3, 1948 she married Robert J. Peterson in California. Lorraine spent her life as a homemaker, raising her two children and also as a self-taught artist. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and special aunt to many.
She was a founding member of Unity in the Gold Country church in Grass Valley, CA. She enjoyed painting and was a lifetime student of growth and spirituality, as she spent many hours taking various classes.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Mary Norgren; husband, Robert; four brothers, Inar, Lars, Carl, Cliff Norgren and four sisters, Marie Krause, Myrtle Posey, Alice Schleske and Jen Schleske.
Survivors include her son, Charlie (Penny) Peterson of Folsom, CA; daughter, Sherry (Gary) Leabo of Underwood, MN; grandchildren, Scott (Michele) Peterson of Folsom, CA, Jay Peterson of Folsom, CA, Jill (Dan) Ivers of Diamond Springs, CA, Lynae (Rufus) Rodriguez of Fairmont, MN, Jay (Erika) Leabo of Underwood, MN, Cody (Melissa) Leabo of Underwood, MN; great-grandchildren, Michael Peterson, Christopher Peterson, Ashley, Taylor, Jacob and Will Ivers, Kellen and MaKena Rodriguez, Jace and Reed Leabo, Colton and Mason Leabo; and sister, Elsie Kugler. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart.
A memorial service will be held in California at a later date.
