Lorraine Margery Bugbee

Lorraine Margery (Curtis) Bugbee, 96, died Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
She was born December 1, 1923, the 6th of 9 children of George and Anna (Johnson) Curtis in Fergus Falls. She grew up in the Underwood area and attended District #251 and #24 schools in rural Underwood, graduating in 1938.
On September 17, 1942, she married John (Jack) Bugbee in a ceremony performed by her grandfather.
Through the years, Lorraine raised six children and worked various jobs including PioneerCare, Medallion Kitchens, Rosenblads, Falls Drug, several cafes in Fergus Falls, the Eagles, VFW and the Underwood Liquor Store. She also volunteered at the MN Veteran’s Home and embroidered dish towels for the Senior Center until the Spring of 2019. Lorraine was a member of the Eagles for 48 years, a life member of the VFW Auxiliaries, and Tingvold Lutheran Church. She loved to dance, play cards, work on jigsaw puzzles, baking, gardening, sewing, embroidering, traveling, and having a good time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, David and John Bugbee; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Merle Fredrickson; grandsons, Monte Bugbee and Wade Bugbee; brother, Keith Curtis; sisters, Eleanor Schneider, Ruby (Ted) Thom, Marie (Walter) Ohren, Leone (Ron) Weaver, Shirley (Roger) Anderson; brother-in-law, Orris Langseth, and niece and nephews, Lois (Arnold) Schroeder, Lyle Thom, Bill Thom, Daniel Langseth, and Dennis Anderson.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Steven Bugbee of Breckenridge, Rick (Sarah) Bugbee of Fergus Falls, and Betty (Gordy) Halena of Ashby; daughters-in-law, Candy Bugbee of Fergus Falls and Joan Bugbee of Underwood; grandchildren, Kelly (Harold) Thorson, Shantel (Gerald) Thorson, Jess (Kristine) Bugbee, Shirley Bugbee, Kim (Cory) Johnson, Lyn (Shannon) Bjorgaard, Ted (Tina) Fredrickson, Brady (Amy) Fredrickson, Darin Bugbee, Joy (Scott) Finkelson, Katie (Lucas) Buttke, Zane (Cassie) Bugbee, Travis (Sarah) Halena, and Heather (David) Dewey; great-grandchildren, Paige (Cassidy) Carlson, Colton, Paris (Ryan Leitch), and Coy Thorson, Riley, Rowdy, Ramsey, and Wyatt Thorson, Laredo, Moraes, and Josie Bugbee, Aleisa and Spencer Bugbee, Tara (Kenny Steffens) and Alyssa Johnson (Amanda Easton), Brenner Fredrickson, John, Grace, and Anna Claire Bugbee, Hannah and Conner Finkelson, Brock, Ty, and Stella Dewey, and Anna, Jayson, and Emma Thormodson; great-great- grandchildren, Lyla, Odyn, Clancy, and Bronc; siblings, George (Delores) Curtis of Pennsylvania and Cleo Langseth of Dilworth; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Vonnie Olson and Diane Scott.
Memorials are preferred to the MN Veterans Home of Fergus Falls Activities Fund.
Visitation: One-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2020, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
