John Ackert, 66, of Rothsay, died Friday, February 18, 2022, at Valley Care Center in Barnesville.
John was born June 18, 1955, the son of Darrell and Norma (Kjer) Ackert in Fergus Falls. He attended Rothsay Public School.
On September 23, 1973, John married Sharon Haslerud in Rothsay.
He was employed at Robanks in Breckenridge for five years and Minn-Dak Farmers Co-op for 42 years. John was a member of the Rothsay Fire and Rescue for 30 years.
John enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, taking care of the yard, and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Darrell and Norma; parents-in-law, Harry and Gertie Haslerud; son, Bobby Ackert, and son-in-law, Dale Larson.
John is survived by his wife Sharon; his children, Christina Larson, Billy Ackert, and David Ackert; grandchildren, Cody, Toni (Hunter), Gracie, Colten, Johnny, and Roy; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Big Red; siblings, Steven (Barb) Ackert, Bruce (Lora) Ackert, and Karen (Steve) Cooley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Celebration of Life: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Rothsay Powerhouse, 436 Center Street N. Rothsay, MN 56579
