Gary Gukeisen

Gary Gukeisen, age 81, of Fergus Falls, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota where he was a resident for many years.
He was born to Floyd and Esther Gukiesen on July 22, 1940, in Parkston, South Dakota. Gary graduated from Sacred Heart School in Parkston and continued to work on the family farm.
Gary later attended the Sioux Vocational Center in Sioux Falls. After graduation he worked at Augustana College and Nash Finch. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
Gary will be remembered as being a kind person, and for the little jokes he could always tell to the people who cared for him during his disabling Parkinson’s disease. He enjoyed the activities and crafts, old movies, music, and watching the Minnesota Twins and the Viking.
Preceding him death were his parents; sisters, Sharon Sutton and Becky Vergara; brother-in-law, Harry Opp, and many aunts and uncles.
Gary is survived by his sisters, Debbie (John) Zimmerman of Asheville, NC and Carol Opp of Underwood; two nieces, Karri (Tim) Colberg and their son, Aidan of Houlton, WI and Jodeen Kramer and her son, Jakob of Underwood; brother-in-law, Jerome Sutton, and many cousins.
Interment: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parkston, South Dakota at a later date.
