Eunice Adeline Formo

Eunice “Euni” Adeline Formo, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, February 13, 2017, at her home.
Euni was born January 7, 1930, in Auburn, ND, to John and Hilda Hegstad. They later moved to Grand Forks and eventually the Fergus Falls area when Euni was in her teens.
Reverend Melby united Eunice and David Formo in marriage on November 27, 1948, at the parsonage in Dalton. They lived in the Fergus Falls area and for some time in Flint, MI, where David worked, returning to live in Fergus Falls, Blanche Lake and finally their last home in the Aurdahl Township area. Together they had one son, Stan.
She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Euni found great strength and comfort in her faith.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed meeting new people and cherished all she knew. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, her bowling league and all wildlife and nature. Euni loved animals and had many adored pets, dogs and cats.
Euni will be remembered for her cooking and baking and her hospitality. She and David were tremendous hosts and they welcomed everyone and often - - the coffee was always on! Euni found time to volunteer at the food shelf and loved being a part of the Senior Center’s “Wit and Skit” traveling group as they entertained all around the area.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, David who died in 2013; their son, Stan; two sisters, Gladys and Jean; and two brothers, Douglas and James.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Heather Hofstrand of Perham; three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Raymond and Michael all of Perham; and one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Margaret Taranto of Columbia Heights, Helen Ghianni of Cocoa Beach, FL, Lorraine Armstrong of Breckenridge, and Dorothy Hutchings of Thornton, CO, a brother-in-law, Andy Formo of Fergus Falls; and three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Williams, Sally (Joe) Christenson, and Georgeen Hegstad, all of Fergus Falls; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, MN

Burial: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls, MN
