Ethel Helen (Turchin) Barker

Ethel Helen (Turchin) Barker, 82, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at her home under the care of her family, LB Hospice and LB Broen Home.
Ethel was born on April 14, 1936 in Urbank, MN, the daughter of Albert and Eleanor (Koep) Turchin. She attended Henning High School, graduating in 1954.
On February 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Barker in Bertha, MN. Their marriage was blessed with six children; twins Deanna and Deb, Bobby, Roxanne, Randy and Kevin.
Ethel spent the majority of her time cooking at various places; including Roosevelt High School in Fergus Falls and 18 years as the cook at the Otter Tail County Jail before her retirement.
Ethel enjoyed gardening, canning, going dancing with Robert, bowling and being a member of the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Proceeding her in death were her husband, Bob; parents, Albert and Eleanor; in-laws, Clayton and Ethel; sister-in-law, Violet; daughter-in-law, Pam; many aunts and uncles; and her caretaker, Linda Randklev.
She is survived by her six children; Deanna (Dave) Kollar, Deb (Steve) Emery, Robert Jr. (Cathy) Barker, Roxanne (Steve) Kronemann, Randy (Dawn) Barker, Kevin (Lisa) Barker; grandchildren, Erin (Matt) Larson, Tracy (Chris Coleman) Holdeman, Stephanie (Blake) Townsend, Darcy (Adam) Weinandt, John (Erika) Emery, Karla (Darin) Blume, Kelli (TJ) Anderson, Abby (Chuck) Walker, Nikki (Tyler) Walls, Kyle (Maggie) Kronemann, Ryan (Vanessa) Field, Megan (Daryl Jr.) Kugler, Adam (Megan) Barker, Missy (Steve) Pitts, Devin Barker and Logan Barker; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Joyce (Shorty) Revering; three nephews, Dean, Dan and Derek Revering and their families; one aunt, Evelyn Roers; and many cousins and friends.
