Elise Marie Carlson

Elise Marie Carlson, 59, a resident of Dalton (formerly of Detroit Lakes), passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at her residence.

She was born on November 30, 1958, in Detroit Lakes, to Joseph E. and Annabelle V. (Erickson) Carlson. Elise attended school in Frazee, graduating in 1977. In 1985, she graduated from Detroit Lakes Vocational Tech. with a degree in Nursing. She was a nurse for 32 years.

Elise was a life member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of 4-H, and loved riding and camping with her horses. She enjoyed the arts, gardening, baking, and spending time with her grandkids.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph E. Carlson Sr. and Annabelle V. Erickson Anderson; brother, Joseph Carlson Jr; sister, Alice E. Byers; and brother-in-laws, Juergen Byers and Robert High.

Survivors include her children, Jessica (Louis) Karsnia of Underwood, Nicole (Jesse) Bearinger of Underwood, and Tyler Wicklund of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Zander and Landon Karsnia, and Jaden Thom-Fogard and Vanze Bearinger all of Underwood; sisters, Deanna (Duane) Walen of Callaway, Denise (Lyle) Shepard and Laurie High both of Detroit Lakes; brothers Daniel (Monica) Carlson and William Carlson of Palm Springs, CA; sister-in-law, Marilyn Carlson of Washington State; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering has been set for Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Fergus Falls VFW Post 612, 420 E. Washington Ave, Fergus Falls, MN.
