Donna Lou Hensch

February 21, 1934 — September 8, 2018

Donna was born on February 21, 1934 in Foxhome, MN, the daughter of John C. and Maudie (Oliphant) Bergquist. She was baptized and confirmed at Foxhome Methodist Church and also attended school in Foxhome.

On November 5, 1952 she married Alfred C. Hensch in Foxhome. After their marriage they lived in Campbell. In 1971 they moved to the farm east of Campbell in Otter Tail County where Donna helped Alfred on the farm and also raised their 4 children. In 1993 they moved to their home on Wall Lake.

Donna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church for many years and then later transferred her membership to Faith Lutheran church in Fergus Falls. Donna enjoyed her family, friends, and traveling. Donna and Alfred spent many winters in Texas with friends. She also enjoyed trail riding in Maplewood State Park, the Sand Hills, and Medora, and was also a member of the Red River Riders Saddle Club. Donna always had a hot meal waiting for Alfred and baked many pans of bars throughout her life. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities, sewing, and watching Western movies.

Donna passed away peacefully Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Maudie; her husband, Alfred, who died October 8, 2017; grandson, Adam C. Hensch; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Hensch and sister, Glenda Sue Joseph.

Survivors include her children; Jerry (Becky) Hensch of Fergus Falls, Jeanne (Jerry) Rupard of Dilworth, Rick (Barb) Hensch of Campbell, Ron Hensch of rural Foxhome; 6 grandchildren, Allisha (Juston) Heacox, Joshua (Thai) Hensch, Jodi (Jonathan) Volgren, Darick (Alicia) Hensch, Jared Hensch, and Leah (Louis) Blocker; 3 step-grandchildren, Brady, Chelsea, and Timothy Rupard; great-grandchildren, Alex, Arik, and Andrew Heacox, Oliver and Nolan Hensch, Jane, Jenna, and Julia Volgren, Karleigh Hensch, Naomi Blocker, and Baby Blocker due October 2018; siblings, Norman Clifford (Cindy Henry) Bergquist of Azle, TX, Blain Reuben (Nancy) Bergquist of Paris, OH; Marlene (Orvis) Olson of Lake Park, MN; brother-in-law, James Paul Joseph Jr. of West Tawakoni, TX. and numerous other family and friends.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Olson Funeral Home, with a public prayer service at 6:30, and resuming one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverend Craig Palach
Interment: Western Immanuel Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls
Arrangements are provided by the Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
