Diana Kay Burmeister, 78, of Underwood passed away Saturday, Sept.10, 2022 at her home.
Diana was born on March 22, 1944, to Perry and Viola (Young) Brown in Fergus Falls. Diana’s family moved to Valley City, ND for a short time, then moved back to the Dalton area. She attended District #7 and the Fergus Falls High School.
On November 21, 1959, she was united in marriage to Wayne Burmeister in Sisseton, SD. Diana was employed at Medallion Kitchen and was an aide at the Broen Home. They divorced in 2012. Diana enjoyed animals especially her dogs, music, the outdoors and crafting cards for friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Viola Brown; brothers, Milton and Lynn Brown; sisters, Jean Samuelson and Betty Fuller; sisters-in-law, Virginia Brown and Karen Brown; brother-in-law, Owen Runningen, and daughter-in-law, Darlene Burmeister
Diana is survived by her three sons, Jeff and Darrell of Fergus Falls and Larry (Julie) Burmeister of Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, Derik (fiancé Nikki Jaeger), Branden, Dakotah and Dustin Burmeister, Matt Hilde, Katelyn Engebretson, and Kacie Lindquist; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Burmeister; sisters, Arlene (Otto) Hanson of Dalton, Beatrice Runningen of Ashby, and Barb Anderson of Elbow Lake; brothers, Dennis of Dalton and Jim (Lisa) Brown of Dalton and numerous nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Sherlock and Coleen Houge.
