William Owen Demmer

William Owen Demmer, 67, died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at his home in Minneapolis.
William was born September 13, 1948, to Valerius “Val” and H. Olive (Bergerud) Demmer in Fergus Falls.
He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1966 and later Alexandria Technical College for accounting. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years in Puerto Rico and Viet Nam. Upon his discharge he began working in the twin cities in the banking industry. For a time he managed a restaurant called Mufeltta in St. Paul.
William was an associate member of the Our Saviors – Ten Mile Lake Church of Dalton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three brothers, Donald (Judy) Demmer, Marietta, GA; Vincent Demmer, Cold Spring; Paul (Tara) Demmer Chaska; one sister, Vicki (Jerry) Molter, Ashby; several nieces and nephews and his aunt Elaine Olson of Fergus Falls.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
