Timothy Alan Rundquist, 52, a resident of Fergus Falls, died tragically Monday, December 22, 2014.

Tim was born on February 15, 1962 in Minneapolis to William and DeAnn (Dale) Rundquist. In 1972 Tim’s family moved to Davis, CA where he lived until he started his college career. He was a graduate of Davis High School where he was a member of the Madrigal choir and the Davis ski team. He continued his ski career in college as an instructor in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Tim was a scholar, earning a Bachelor of Arts at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington, where he was a member of Choir of the West, a Master’s in Political Science at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, and a Law Degree at Seattle University in Seattle, Washington. Tim continued his love of learning as a professor of business law in the Minnesota State University system.

In 1999 Tim returned to Minnesota where he met and married his wife, Heather. In 2000 Tim and Heather made their home in Fergus Falls.

Tim was a writer, musician, fisherman and outdoorsman. He authored three books, “How Heavy is the Mountain”, “50,000 Watts of Jazz from Fargo” and “Ollie the Otter”. He also assembled three anthologies titled “The Otter Tail Review”. Tim played the piano and other musical instruments, and had the gift of a beautiful singing voice. He grew up spending his summers on Otter Tail and Walker Lakes where he fished and spent time with cousins. Tim spent many summers in Alaska where he was a tour guide.

A devoted and loving father, Tim enjoyed spending time with his children, going on “adventures”, road trips and fishing in warm and cold weather.

Tim was also involved in the Fergus Falls community, serving his first term on city council. He was also an active member of Federated Church, serving on numerous committees over the years. Currently Tim was employed with Stevens County Attorney’s Office in Morris.

Tim is survived by his wife, Heather and four children, Alex Vasseei, Rosemary, Benjamin and Fiona Rundquist of Fergus Falls; parents, William Alan (Jane) Rundquist of Davis, CA, DeAnn (Eric) Rassmusson of Cable, WI; siblings, William Andrew Rundquist of Moorhead, Wendy (Eric) Pennington of Reno, NV, Kari (Greg) Fry of Davis, CA; aunt and uncle, Bev and Stan Satre of Fergus Falls.
