Rolland "Rollie" Glenn Lickness

Rolland “Rollie” Lickness, 80, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Rollie was born June 22, 1936, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Hamlin and Norma (Lifto) Lickness. He grew up and went to school in Sioux Falls, SD.
During his junior year in high school he was active in the Guard. After attending Augustana College for a short time, he joined the Cadet Program in flight training. From 1955-1957 he served active duty in the Air Force, stationed in San Antonio, TX. Rollie remained in the Guards for many years. After that he worked for Sunshine Food Markets and John Morrell in the sales department, starting in Sioux Falls then transferring to Bismarck where he lived for 8 years. Locally, he worked for Moore Ford and Goodyear until his retirement.
On December 22, 1984, Rollie married the love of his life, Linda Berg in Sisseton, SD. Together they made their home in Fergus Falls.
Rollie enjoyed many gambling trips to Las Vegas. He was also an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. Rollie was a member of the Elks for over 60 years, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and recently celebrated 60 years of sobriety. He was a Yankees fan, and spent many hours solving the world’s problems with friends at the Viking Café.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda in 2016; a son David; and sister, Jacklyn.
He is survived by his son Mark Lickness in Sioux Falls, SD; step-children, Sheri Anonen of Brookings, SD; Kimberly Mudderman of Strum, WI; Holly Stave of Plymouth, MN; sisters-in-law Marian Overby of Big Lake, WA; Connie (Allen) Rettig of Forest Lake, MN; and his coffee friends: Dennis, Gary, Jim, Don, Roger, Dave, Doug, Gaylord, and Gene.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11:00 AM Friday June 2, 2017, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski, Father Bill Gamber, and Deacon Chuck Kampa
