Louise Signe Hogan, 96, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, December 24, 2017, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Louise was born on February 12, 1921, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Thorval and Bertha (Nerby) Brothen. She grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School.

She married Willard “Eric” Erickson and the couple lived in Fergus Falls and Jamestown. Later she married Dr. Clifford Hogan and they lived in Jamestown.

She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and especially proud of her homemade rosettes and krumkake. Louise enjoyed many summers at Otter Tail Lake and winters in Palm Springs, CA. She loved making people laugh and made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Willard “Eric” Erickson and Dr. Clifford Hogan; a daughter, who died in infancy; brothers, Arthur (Margret), Ivar (Ruth), Bob (Betty) Brothen; sister, Margaret (Roy) Torstenson and a son-in-law, John Amsler.

Survivors include her children, Jill Amsler, John Erickson, Mary Hogan, Knute Hogan; four grandchildren, Eric (Rakel) Hale, Brita (Brett) Forbes, Tina Erickson, Dana (Sara) Erickson; several great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and a sister, Edna Brothen. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
