Helene Ermine Thompson

Helene Ermine Thompson, 92, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, December 17, 2016, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Helene was born on March 28, 1924, to Henry and Esther (Helseth) Varholdt, in rural Rothsay. She grew up as an only child and attended school in the Rothsay area.

On January 3, 1953, Helene married Glenn Thompson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. After their marriage, the couple moved to Washington and returned to Fergus Falls in 1967. Helene worked at Lake Region Hospital in the housekeeping department until her retirement in 1984.

In 2013, she moved to the Mill Street Residence and then in January of 2016, she moved to PioneerCare, where she resided until the time of her death. Helene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Esther Varholdt; and her husband, Glenn Thompson on June 21, 1993.

Helene is survived by many cousins and extended family members.
