Eric Simonsen

Eric Simonsen, 50, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at his home.
He was born December 12, 1964, in Staten Island, NY to Peter and Janice (Jensen) Simonsen. He attended school at Coronado High School in Colorado Springs, CO and graduated from Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls in 1982. He then attended Bethel College in St. Paul and graduated with an Associate degree in 1986.
On August 7, 1993, he married Elisabeth Bronson in Bunker Hill, NJ. Eric was a Master carpenter and owner of Simonsen Construction, working in New York, New Jersey, Minnesota and North Dakota. In 2012-2013, he did shoreline restoration and in 2014, he worked as a framer with Precise Carpentry and was a painter with Newman Painting.
Eric’s faith was very important to him. He has most recently been a member of Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church of Fergus Falls. He enjoyed spending time with his family, auto repair and restoration of classic cars and hunting and gardening.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Arthur and Edith Simonsen and Einar and Alice Jensen; his mother-in-law, Ruth Bronson; brothers-in-law, Alvin Bronson III and Scott Hamann; and a nephew, Anthony Foulk.
Survivors include his wife, Beth; children, Ashley, Kari, Tobias and David, all at home; his parents, Peter and Janice Simonsen of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Sonja (Nick) Kaneda of Monument, CO; a brother, Arne Simonsen of Carbondale, CO; father and mother-in-law, Alvin “Rocky” and Rebecca Bronson of Moorhead; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Todd) Foulk of Michigan and Becky (Jamie) Feland of Dickinson, ND; brothers-in-law, Danny (Mandy) Bronson of Billings, MT and Andy (Shana) Bronson of Moorhead, MN, along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorials are preferred.

Visitation: Open casket visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, with a 7 p.m. praise and sharing service at the funeral home. Closed casket visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 10 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN
Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls
